Álvaro generated displacements on the archive basing on the idea of a “container”. This turned into a aesthetic object for talking about the material impossibility of physically containing things. Alvaro produces an installation in which empty glasses are set on metallic shelves. The glasses are pressed to each other through the shelves. We see ourselves in front of a form of poetics resulting from the action of emptying the container. This is a time based metaphere which comes from the problem of a deposit as a form of breaking time. It also alludes the paradigm implicit inside of the archive, in terms of its aim to preserve for a future. What does preserving emptiness mean?
